Sea shelf

Hello,

Here is a new mistake for you.

I like spending my summer vacations on the sea shelf.

Instead of:

I like spending my summer vacations by the sea.

The student seems to have confused "shelf" and "shore".

Have a good day!

Funny google video

Hello, there! I suspect the video is really funny, but I must admit it is a bit too hard to me to understand. I believe I must spend some time trying to comprehend as much as I can. :) I would also appreciate if you could transcribe and perhaps explain a couple of Mitch’s jokes, if it is not too muc...

Nostalgia

Hello,

I've just come across a good one. Enjoy!

Nostalgia is the realization that things weren't as unbearable as they seemed at the time.

Chin up! :)

Our parents

Hello,

I think we should, and not just because our parents paid for us when we were younger. I think we must take care of those who need help.

Obviously, it may be not so easy in real life.

And what do you think?

English articles

Hello, there! It’s not easy to explain how English articles (“a”, “an”, “the”, and “ “ or zero article) work. But I will try to do it, but not in just one posting. Here is something to start from. We put “a” before consonants (b, c, d, etc), and we put “an” before “vowels” (a, e, i, etc). You can sa...

She lives in Mississippi. (Instead of “She comes from Mississippi.”)

Have a good day!

Hello,

A marvelous quote that was sent to me by one of my students:

"Take care to get what you like or you will be forced to like what you get!"
Bernard Shaw

Can't agree more.

Cheers!

Re: Comma before "too" and "either" at t

Hello, Pambele I must admit that your question completely took me aback. Moreover, when I consulted Longman Dictionary of Contemporary Usage and Practical English Usage I failed to find anything that would explain the appearing and disappearing coma before "too" and "either". What added confusion is...
