can anyone define the rule for the use of find and found . ie
1/ find the machine in poor condition.
2/ found the machine in poor condition.
i will qualify it by saying that i was pinged when submitting a work report (after the work was completed)
and used the number 1 statement as the opening statement.
find and found usage
"Find" VS. "Found" - more info is needed
Hello, Reefer
Can you give the whole sentence please? And I'll do my best to try to help you.
Here is how I see it so far. The first one looks like an imperative (Walk two blocks and turn right). It may be used when you give instructions. For example - On the File menu, click Open.
The second one looks fine to me. Here is what it means:
I found the machine in [a] poor condition. Then I carried out essential maintenance.
Paraphrase: Found the machine in [a] poor condition, I carried out essential maintenance.
Any further questions are welcome.
Nikita
