Hello, everyone.
Does anyone know how to pronounce Dothan?

(Dothan is the latest modification of Intel Pentium M)

Hello Sergey,

I think that I have no chance of finding it in Longman Pronunciation Dictionary, but I will try to look it up when I am at ih (this Friday).

But I think it must be the same way as "Dothan" in Alabama, which according to http://www.angelfire.com/journal2/SouthernGrit/USA_Drifters/ is pronounced as "Dough – Thin".

Does anyone know whether Intel decided to call their latest Pentium after Dothan city or not? My spell checker knows "Dothan", but I am sure it is the first time I've heard of it.

I saw your shadow and even heard your steps on IH's stairs yesterday evening, but I didn't have a chance to see you in flesh and blood for I was guarding a room we had a lesson in.
Nikita, you must have given the wrong address, because this reference doesn't work.
In my perception it should be pronounced as two separate words: Do Than. At least I would be pleased if it were this way Smile

It is a shame that I didn't see you. Never mind, I will try hard to look around on Friday. What group are you studying in? Who is your new teacher?

I intend to resume my club as soon as the clubs are back at ih. But they might not resume clubs at all, because they say that not so many students attended clubs, so they didn't improved ih's image much. And then if I run a club, it will have nothing to do with computers since there are no good computers in ih's resource centre any more.

Hi, Nikita!
You brought me really grim tidings(I believe I must use this word at least once). For me these clubs are the only possibility to polish my speaking skills and I am always looking forward to the next club session. It would be a blow to lose them. But even these "encouraging" news wouldn't cool me down, so - cheer up! Get rid of your gloomy mood.
Now I am in A1 group. Ruslan, Julia, Oleg and Igor are with me again. Igor Illin is our teacher. But due to some reasons we are having Vlad as a substitute for the initial period.

Hello again,

Apparently, Igor Illyin is having a good time somewhere away from Kharkov with Zheleznov, who came for some time to Kharkov from Canada.

As far as I know Igor should be back on Monday evening, so you will have your very first class with him either on Monday or on Friday.

Be prepared for lots of cool and difficult words. I am also sure that you will really impress Igor with your vocabulary and linguistic skills.

And I am looking forward to learning some snippets of Igor's wisdom from you.
